La scorsa notte allo Staples Center di Los Angeles, in California, sono stati assegnati i Grammy awards 2016, i più importanti premi musicali statunitensi. La cerimonia è stata presentata dal rapper e attore LL Cool J.
La cantante Taylor Swift, ha vinto il premio per il miglior album dell’anno (è la seconda volta nella sua carriera) con 1989, ma anche quello per il miglior album vocale pop e per il miglior video con Bad blood.
Il rapper Kendrick Lamar, che aveva undici nomination, è l’artista che ha raccolto più premi, in tutto cinque, ma è stato escluso da quelli più importanti. Kendrick Lamar è stato premiato per il miglior album rap (To pimp a butterfly), la migliore canzone rap (Alright), la migliore performance rap, la migliore collaborazione rap e miglior video (insieme a Taylor Swift per Bad blood).
Il musicista britannico Ed Sheeran ha vinto i suoi primi due grammy: canzone dell’anno e performance pop solista per Thinking out loud. Il gruppo rock Alabama Shakes ha raccolto tre premi: miglior album alternative (Sound & color), miglior canzone e miglior performance rock (Don’t wanna fight). I Muse sono stati premiati per il miglior album rock con Drones.
