Grey’s Anatomy: Everything You Need to Know About Season 14

Kim Raver, Kevin McKidd, Martin Henderson and Ellen Pompeo, Grey's Anatomy

Meredith is the other woman again: Meredith’s boyfriend’s old flame abruptly enters the picture out of nowhere. Sound familiar? Megan, of course, is not only Owen’s sister but Nathan’s (Martin Henderson) old flame. And with Meredith encouraging him to reconnect with Megan, Mer and Nathan might be done for now. “They both had a similar experience [losing their partners], but now this experience for Nathan is not even possible for her. Derek is not coming back,” executive producer and star Debbie Allen told us. “She will be re-examining and figuring out what’s important in her life and how she will move on emotionally.”

Jo (Camilla Luddington) needs a new person: With her BFF Edwards gone, Jo is pretty lonely and is desperately seeking a new pal. “I think Jo is going to try and attempt to lean on Ben (Jason George) a bit this season,” Luddington said. “Is it successful? I don’t know. I think she’s trying to pull anyone close to her and that’s another resident. … As for other women, I don’t know yet. That’ll be interesting.” Don’t get too attached to Ben, girl.

Bye, Ben: Ben is not long for Grey Sloan. No, he’s not biting it, but Jason George will be moving over to the firefighter spin-off set to launch midseason. Don’t fret about Ben and Bailey though. The couple will still be together; you’ll just be seeing less of him on Grey’s. “there will definitely be crossovers between Grey’s and the spin-off show,” George told TVLine. “I think kind of along the lines of what happened with Private Practice and Grey’s. Bailey can come home and fall into bed, and there’s Ben, and they can talk about their day. Or Ben comes home from fighting fires all day and falls into bed, and there’s Bailey.”

Grey’s Anatomy premieres Thursday, Sept. 28 at 8/7c with a two-hour episode on ABC.
